Amarnagar, a small village in Bhadrak district of Odisha state is located near to the Bay of Bengal. Many of the small fisherman from the village catch small fishes from the abandoned areas where small water lines flow get created by during the high tides and then harvest them in their ponds. Later when the fish grows, they use that for their domestic consumption. Sometime they do sell in small quantity in the nearest market. This is very unusual considering the entire area is getting dominated by big trawlers and is an practical example of, using the resources in a sustainable manner by not damaging the resource presence in the aquatic ecosystem.
